The Ice C0ld Truth

Superman had Lex Luger. The Xmen and the Brotherhood. Batman had The Joker. And I have ESPN. Now my beef is not with the anchors. They are merely doing their jobs by maintaining the flow of the news, but those analysts. They are no better than you and me. Who cares if they played the damn sport before, hell...so have most us. The disparity in treatment is sickening. I am sick of the Brett Favres getting away with murder, while Jay Cutler is crucified.

I mean come on. If a new boss came in tomorrow and told you, your company's brightest junior vice president, that they feel more comfortable with their own junior vp and tried to relocate you to another company 4000 miles away just to get him. How would you feel? Probably betrayed that his superiors allowed that to happen. Well that's why JC wanted out of Mile High country.

On the other hand Brett Favre is allowed to stunt the growth of young team. Now, I do not have preference between Jackson or Sage, but both would have been better options than Brett. Seriously, the guy is not the same guy that won 3 NFL MVPs. He is the guy that skips training camp, throws game defining interceptions, and distances himself from his teammates. But let my Jaws tell it and Brett is ready to set the world on fire tonight. I seriously doubt that. You can mark my word. Mario Williams will be chasing Ol' man river all first quarter.

The worst part about this whole Favre experiment is the byproduct of this failed experiment. Brad Childress will lose not only the locker room but his job when Brett shows his true self. AP will have wasted a year of his prime and has to experience the breaking in of a new qb next year. Jackson and Sage are searching to find a camp to compete in next year. And everyone but Favre will be blamed for the Viking not making the playoffs.

Oh well, Brad and Brett can always say to each, "We will always have the ride"
